Your itinerary
Day 1Day 1 – Arrival in Nairobi
Arrive in Nairobi, Kenya’s vibrant capital city, where you’ll be met by your safari representative and transferred to your hotel. Take time to relax and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2Day 2 – Nairobi to Lake Elementaita
Depart Nairobi after breakfast and drive to Lake Elementaita, one of the lesser-known jewels of the Rift Valley. Arrive mid-morning for a guided bird walk where you may spot species such as the glossy ibis, black heron, and red-billed teal.
After lunch, continue exploring the lake’s shoreline and acacia woodlands.

Day 3Day 3 – Lake Elementaita to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, travel to Lake Naivasha, a beautiful freshwater lake famed for its abundance of bird species. Over 450 species have been recorded here, including African fish eagles, ospreys, herons, and lily-trotters.
Enjoy guided birding walks and scenic views of Mount Longonot. Optional activities include a boat ride to observe hippos and waterbirds at close range.

Day 4Day 4 – Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, also known as “The Pink Heart of Kenya.”
The park is world-famous for its large flocks of flamingos and over 400 bird species, including pelicans, storks, and plovers.
In the afternoon, enjoy a combined bird and game drive, where you may also spot rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, and other wildlife.

Day 5Day 5 – Full Day Birding in Lake Nakuru
Spend a full day birdwatching in Lake Nakuru National Park.
The day’s focus is identifying more bird species and photographing the vibrant birdlife along the lake’s shores.
If lucky, you might also encounter a leopard resting on the acacia trees.
Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6Day 6 – Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, journey across the Rift Valley floor to the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve — the northern extension of Tanzania’s Serengeti ecosystem.
The park is home to over 450 recorded bird species, including crowned cranes, secretary birds, lilac-breasted rollers, and ostriches.
After lunch, enjoy your first afternoon game and birding drive in search of both avian and big game species.

Day 7Day 7 – Full Day Birding in Masai Mara
Spend the day exploring the vast Mara plains with your guide. Visit the Mara River, where you may encounter fish eagles, herons, and bee-eaters — as well as hippos and crocodiles basking on the banks.
With over 450 species recorded in this reserve, you’ll have the chance to spot everything from raptors to grassland specialists.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before returning for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8Day 8 – Masai Mara to Nairobi / Departure
After breakfast, bid farewell to the savannah and drive back to Nairobi.
