Samburu National Reserve
Samburu National Reserve, located in northern Kenya along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, is a breathtaking wildlife sanctuary celebrated for its arid beauty and rich cultural heritage. The reserve’s dramatic landscape of rugged hills, acacia woodlands, and riverine forests provides a striking backdrop for an incredible array of wildlife, including the unique “Samburu Special Five” — Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, beisa oryx, and gerenuk. Elephants are often seen bathing along the river, while lions, leopards, and cheetahs roam the plains. Beyond its wildlife, Samburu offers an authentic cultural experience through interactions with the proud Samburu people, whose traditional way of life remains deeply connected to the land.
